Shakespeare,which is like a'ghost',haunted the later generations and especially exerted great influence on Marx,Derrida and contemporary American scholars such as Peter Stallybrass and Richard Halpern.They consciously quoted Hamlet's ghost,and took 'ghost'as different metonymies.The paper holds 'ghost'originated from Shakespeare,and underwent great changes as well.The study will promote the further development of Shakespeare's studies.
