The archaeological investigation and excavation on the Xiaobaijiao No. 1 shipwreck at Yushan, Ningbo was the most important underwater archaeological program in last decade of east Zhejiang. The archeological findings provide valuable data to the history of maritime transportation of China's eastern and southern cost in the late Qing dynasty. An examination on the two types of commodities-stones from the Yin County, Ningbo and porcelains produced in Jingdezhen's folk kilns-discovered from wreck indicates that the ship Xiaobaijiao No.1 was from the Qing Dynasty and was supposed to travel to Nagasaki, Japan for trade. It was very likely to have passed by Zhenhai, Ningbo and Putuo, Zhoushan during its last journey.
