为胡适增改《西游记》第八十一难辩护——从接受美学与阐释学出发

In Defense of Hu Shih's Revision of the 81st Trial in A Journey to the West

对于胡适早年增改《西游记》第八十一难,学界一直未有肯定性评价。而从现代文艺学科特别是接受美学与阐释学的立场来看,胡适的改作具有充分的合理性:作为文学阅读的"读者反应",主体能动介入理应得到尊重;改作本身的优劣得失是客观存在,但对其"个性化加工"的评价见仁见智,不宜一概;即使对《西游记》原著有所肢解,但阐释的"误读"中隐含创见,"误解或具创见而引人入胜",故亦不应完全否定。

There has been no agreement in evaluating Hu Shih's revision of the 81 sttrial in A Journey in the academic circle.This paper takes the perspective of reception aesthetics and hermeneutics to approach the issue and claims the reasonability of Hu's revision.In the reader response in the process of reading,the agency of the reader 's subjecthood should be fully acknowledged to be legitimate,while the merits or demerits of the revision may be subjected to individual evaluation.Hu's revision of A Journey to the West,even if breaking up the novel's unity as perceived by many readers,implicates creative insight behind the interpretive misreading which should be given credit.
