Comparison of the Sublime Theory between Burke and Kant

康德的崇高论与柏克的崇高论有着直接的传承关系,二者都认为崇高具有可怖性,是一种由痛感转化而来的快感。但柏克将崇高感性化了,康德在其基础上把崇高理性化了,因此又有着不同之处。

Kant's sublime theory has a direct inherent relationship with Burke's,both of them think sublime objects have some sense of horror,and sublimity is a sense of joy which is transformed from the sense of pain. However,Burke has made sublimity sensible; Kant has made sublimity much more reasonable. Therefore,they have some differences in their sublime theory.
