Lexical inference is one of the key links in second language reading. The paper analyzes the factors affecting the lexical inference from the reader factors and textual factors, reader factors from vocabulary knowledge of second language learners, familiarity with the theme and the language level of second language learners to discuss the discourse; the discourse factors mainly from the word factors and contextual factors to elaborate. With the indepth study of lexical inference in future, we will have more in-depth understanding of the lexical processing.
