The problem of lexical gap is very common in financial translation. This paper analyzes the causes of lexical gap between English and Chinese financial words and then proposes that to reproduce the source text and ensure the accuracy of translation, flexible translation strategies should be adopted according to the specific context involved in the financial culture when dealing with the problem of lexical gap.
