德育是学校教育的重要组成部分,也是育人的一项根本要求。尽管大学英语教学主要是语言和文化知识的教育,但教师如有意识地挖掘课文中的道德元素,吸收文中体现的优良西方社会思想,按特定教学方法有意识、有针对性地引导学生的道德情操,定能起到良好的德育功能。
