明光方言属北方方言的江淮官话,由于地理位置和历史沿革的原因,明光方言呈现诸多语音特点,明光方言普遍存在入声字,但不带-p,-t,-k尾,而形成紧元音,声母中有许多条件变体,调值上自成一类。这对于促进方言语音学研究有一定的意义和价值。

Mingguang dialect belongs to northern dialect Jianghuai Mandarin, due to geographical location and history, Mingguang dialect have many features of speech, Mingguang dialect prevalent entering tone words, but not with-p,-t,-k tail, and the formation of tight vowel, consonant with many conditions in variant, as a kind of value. This has certain significance and value to promote the dialect phonetics study.
