Analysis of college oral English class materials supplementary

培养学生具备一定英语口语能力是大学英语教学的目标之一。对于如何教好口语、进行口语教学改革,研究者的兴趣较高。作为口语教师,在课堂上补充恰当的材料,不仅可以激发学生学习兴趣,更可以使课堂活动更加丰富多彩,上课内容充实具有实用性,可以增加学习的鲜活性。笔者通过教学实践,发现在课堂上补充英语习语、文化、媒体和社交礼仪与交流技巧等方面的材料,可以取得良好的教学效果。

One of the objectives of the college English teaching and learning is to cultivate students to have an ability of communication in English. Researchers had great interests in how to teach spoken English effectively, the reformation of oral English teaching methods and so on. However, as an oral English teacher, supplementing appropriate materials to the textbook in class, can not only stimulate students' interests in English learning, but enrich the classroom activities and enhance the liveness of learning process. The author, in practising the oral English teaching, discovered that it can achieve better teaching effects by adding materials on English idioms and culture, materials taken from multimedia and skills for social communication and etiquette in class.
