摘要
Along with the accelerated process of globalization,more and more new terms have poured into Chinese vocabulary. Being a convenient procedure, transliteration is widely used in introducing new words. By analyzing the features of transliteration and cultural differences between Chinese and English, this essay concludes three functions of transliteration in the aspects of vocabulary development,informative function and aesthetic function.
