Aesthetic Utilitarianism and It's Influence on Chinese Literature of 20th Century

由于传统哲学和现代社会现实的影响,中国现代美学家在引进西方审美理论时,创造性地把审美和功用结合起来,形成了中国现代特殊的审美功能论。以此理论为视角,可以重新认识20世纪那些审美性文学的内在意义。极端审美论和极端功利论均对文学的健康发展无益。

Thanks to the influence of traditional philosophy and modern social reality when modern esthetes in China bring in the western aesthetic theories,they creatively combine aesthetic theories with utility,forming modern special aesthetic utilitarianism,which has a greater effect on the development of Chinese literature,especially pure literature of 20th century.By using these theories people realize again the internal meaning of those aesthetic literature.Both radical aestheticism and radical utilitarianism definitely do harm to the healthy development of literature.
