China is the first country that successfully broke through the Soviet mode and advanced towards the socialist market economy. The tradition of 'seeking truth from facts', 'the mass line' and 'independence in decision making' handed down from the age of Mao Ze-dong, and the historical business potentials embedded in Chinese people as part of their culture are all the advantages for China to break through the Soviet mode. Before the potential of the planned economy system exhausted itself, the crises resulting from the Culture Revolution and the provident leadership by the second generation of leading group headed by Deng Xiaoping are the prerequisites for China to advance towards the socialist market economy successfully.
