张爱玲通过她的小说创作道出了她的女性观,发出女人的天空是低的悲叹,但她在刻画了部分安于命运甘心做生活和男人的奴隶的女性外,也表明了女性对命运的抗争,方式虽然各不相同,但目的是一样的,为的是追求平实而安稳的生活。

Through her novel writing, Zhang Ailing expresses her view on women, giving a mournful sigh that the sky is low for them. She depicts some women who take their fate lying down and are content with the position of slaves of the male and life and also describes those who fight against fate. Their life styles are different, but their purposes are the same: seeking for a smooth and steady life.
