An All-Optical Network OADM Design Based on Fiber Bragg Grating

摘要  提出一种全新的OADM(OpticalAdd-DropMultiplexers)结构设计,此结构仅采用一个多端口环行器,大大减少了环行器的数量,节约了成本。若要上/下路一个波长,则只需要一个FBG(FiberBraggGrating);若要同时上/下路多个波长,则需要2m个FBG。计算机仿真实验证明此结构比H.Yuan提出的结构具有更低的损耗,对全光网络的实现具有重大的意义。 We propose a new OADM structure design,which uses a multi-ports optical circulator (OC) with fiber Bragg grating(FBG) and reduces the number of circulators. Therefore, it is cost-effective.If we want to add-drop one wavelength, only one FBG will be needed, and if we want to add-drop many wavelengths, 2m FBGs must be needed. The computer simulation experiment shows that the loss of this structure is lower than that of H. Yuan's structure. It can drop many wavelengths. With the development of Internet, the much faster transport networks will be needed. The structure is important for all-optical network realization.
