A corpus-based study on frequency features of speech act verbs in nautical English

利用语料库对航海英语中的言语动词进行量化分析 ,总结出言语动词在航海英语中的频率特征 ,并从词源、语义成分、句法结构等方面分析其原因。认为在讲授言语动词时 ,应着重讲授具有正式性、准确性、可靠性、权威性和客观性特点的词。讲授其同义词或近义词的区别时最好采用语义分析法。

This paper investigates the frequency features of speech act verbs (SAVs) in nautical English by means of corpus. Frequency features of SAVs are summed up and the reasons are analyzed from the point of view of etymology, semantic elements and syntactic structures. This paper also implies that the SAVs which bear the features of formality, accuracy, reliability, authority and objectivity should be stressed in nautical English teaching. It is better to analyze their semantic elements when synonyms are taught.
