论戏剧翻译的原则和途径

On the Principle and Approach of Drama Translation

剧本是戏剧翻译的主体,它既是舞台演出的蓝本,又可作为文学作品单独阅读。但剧本的阅读与上演是两个不同的方面,因此,戏剧翻译只遵循文学翻译一种途径是不现实的,应根据不同目标群而形成多种途径。

Drama is a special literary style, and an old stage art as well. Play book is not only the basis of a performance, but the literary work which can be read as a literature. Reading a play book is different from putting it onto the stage, therefore, it is unrealistic to translate a drama just treating it as a literature without considering whether the translation will be accepted or not by the audience. More translating approaches should be provided to theatric translation to meet the need of different target groups.
