康有为把教育视为拯救民族危亡的前提和途径 ,通过亲身实践、改革旧式教育体制、废科举、倡新学、普及国民教育和设立奖励机制来提高国民素质、发展科技 ,实现国家独立富强。尽管他师法西学的实践有成功也有失败 ,但他无疑是中国近代史上最出色的教育家之一。另外 ,由他发起的戊戌维新思潮为新文化运动和“五四”
Kang Youwei considers education as a premise and a way to rescue a nation from its crisis. Thus, Kang performs on the traditional educational system,abandoning the imperial examinations, advocating the grassroots education, and establishing the rewarding mechanisms for the sake of the national quality. Despite his incomplete success in the practice of the western learning, he is one of the best educationalists in the contemporary China. And at the meanwhile, the new culture campaign and his reforming concept have acted as the theoretical foundation for the May 4 th Movement.
