The North-western Europe's economy in the Middle Ages used to be alternately controlled by Hansa and Italian commercial bankers, however, in the period of social transference during the 15th-17th centuries, the Northwestern European nations not only successfully cast off the economic control of foreign nations and won their economic independence but, in the anti-control process, also gradually shifted their inward economy to outward expansion. This significant transference prepared a solid material foundation and motive force for the real 'take-off' of their capitalist economy - the industrial revolution.
