The effective depth of cross-section for the simple-supported T-beam used commonly for highway and its area of tensile steel bars are taken to be as the design variables, the construction cost of T-beam is used for the objective function, on the basis of the Specifications for Construction of Highway Bridges and Culverts, this article put forwards to the optimum design method for reinforced concrete (R.C.) T-beam.;
