Dilemma of the gradient theory and practice and its logical connection with the many theories in developing regional economy makes it possible for the gradient theory to be extended. Having extended gradient to such respects as natural elements, economy, society, man power resources, ecological environment, system and whatever, the macro-gradient theory reorganizes developing theories in many a field, and brings into reality the innovation of the theory in stages of harmonious development of regional economy and the theory in regional economic development.
