Motif and Evolution ——Analysis of the Story of “Gaisi and Lella"

“盖斯和莱拉”的爱情故事发源于阿拉伯半岛 ,在伊斯兰文化圈中广泛流传。中世纪波斯诗人尼扎米和现代埃及作家邵基利用这一本事母题所提供的叙事空间 ,在同质的伊斯兰文化语境中 ,因契合的社会关注点不同 ,作出了截然相反的诠释 ,进而使作品的意义和效果各异。此外 ,文本还蕴含了破译波斯民族和阿拉伯民族历史文化渊源和审美心理特征的因子。

The love story of “Gaisi and Lella' originates in the Arabian Peninsular and is wide spread in the Islamic cultural circles. Nizami, a Persian poet in the Middle Ages, and contemporary Egyptian writer Shauqi, both make use of the narrative space provided by the motif of the source material, but, due to their different focal points on society, even within the homogeneous cultural context of Islam, they have made entirely opposite interpretations, thus lending different significance and effect to their works. In addition, their texts also contain elements by which the historical and cultural origins and the aesthetic psychological characteristics of the Persian and Arabian nationalities can be decoded.
