The main demands for giving a definition to a mathematical idea, the essence and the thinking methods of the definition have been discussed in this paper. We think that it's not suitable for us to use the four rules about the true definition in formal logic as the basic demands for the mathematical definition. We can instead make the rules concerning the constant individually in the mathematical basic conception. The idea of rule and the non-creative rule should be given in the methodology of the middle school mathematics.
