The study and development of a load monitor of hoisting start/stop machine for sluice gate are introduced. The monitor is based on single chip computer. The structures of both hardware and software and the functions of the system are discussed. The design concept and the method of implementation of single chip computer expansion circuit, man-machine interface and communication are emphasized.
