This paper describes the principle and method of oil monitoring and diagnosing of diesel engines, summarizes and analyzes the corresponding relation between oil monitoring indexes and parts wearing and lubrication troubles of diesel engines, and introduces the applied results of oil monitoring and diagnosing developed by Guangzhou Machine Tool Research Institute in diesel power stations.
