清空是张炎词论的核心。清空与质实并不是一个层面上的术语,从基本的层面上看,二者是就语言的锻炼修饰、章法结构、用典使事而言,但清空还有更深的含义,清空是一个较高层次的审美范畴,是一种空灵、蕴藉的审美意境。
The core of Zhang Yan's Theory of poem style is grace. The grace and simplicity of a poem is not a skin-deep term, but refers to the use of language, and the art of composition. And the grace is a aesthetic category and implies a noble artistic conception.
