中国传统文化对郁达夫的生活与创作有重大影响。传统知识分子的忧患意识激励他以天下兴亡为己任,努力寻求救国救民的真理;天人合一的审美理想促使他在生活中乐于亲近自然,在创作中大量描写自然;魏晋名士风流感染郁达夫既批判现实,又避世归隐,甚至饮酒狎妓;隐逸思想则既促使他逃避世俗,又鼓励他坚守自己的个性,决不与世俗妥协。

Traditional Chinese culture obviously influences YU Da-fu' life and writing. The consciousness of suffering of traditional intellectual inspired YU Da-fu with the responsibility of serving the nation and the effort to seek the truth of saving Chinese people. The ideal of aesthetic of the introjection of human and nature spurred YU Da-fu to hobnob with nature in social life and describe nature in writing. The style of gentlemen in Wei and Jin Dynasties impelled YU Da-fu to animadvert on social life or avoid the society or drink and play with prostitutes. The idea of escape urged YU Da-fu to escape from society and encouraged him to insist his individuality, not compromising to the common custom.
