The Reasons for China's Urbanization Lag and the Choice for Development Mode

城市化进程和工业化从理论上来说,应该表现出一种正相关性,然而中国的城市化却明显滞后于工业化。赶超战略的发展目标和增量改革策略是中国目前城市化依旧滞后的主要原因。城市化发展过程是一个系统工程,应该构建大中小城市的发展体系,同时大力发挥第三产业在城市化中的后续动力作用。

The urbanization course and industrialization from the point of theory should be of positive correlation. However , China has been obviously lagged behind industrialization. The paper argues that the object to overtaking development strategy and strategy for increment is the main reason for China' s present urbanization lag. The developmental mode to deal with the problem should, as a systematic project, construct a development system of large, medium and small cities and at the same time, exert greatly back-coming motive forces of the third industry.
