Joint sealant gasket of expanded PTFE made of pure PTFE is a continuous low density cord. It is flexible, compressible exhibits high tensile strength, and is ehernically inert. This unique combination of properties permits it to conform easily to irregular surfaces and compress to a thin gasket while using moderate bolting force. It is completely unaffected by all common chemicals, does not deteriorate with age, may be used over the temperature range of -450°F to +600°F (-268℃ to +315℃), will not leave a residue on the flanges, and will not contaminate flow products.
