面对中国加入WTO的新形势,处在发展中的天津,在确定了今后5～10年城市发展的三项历史性任务的基础上,将主动适应新形势,坚持开放型、科技型、服务型的发展方向,突出抓好结构调整、技术创新和对外开放,与时俱进,自立于世界都市之林。

In the face of China' s accession to the WTO, Tianjin, in confirmation with three historical task of city development within the next 5-10 year, will adapt itself to the new situation, insist on the direction of openingup, scientific and technological, service style. Meanwhile, Tianjin will give prominence to the work of structural adjustment, technological innovation and opening to the outside world, advancing with the era together, in order to support itself in the woods among the cities of the world.
