“成语”指现成的词语,最初称为“成言”、“成辞”、“陈言”,到宋代称为“成语”、“全语”,明清沿用。
'chcngyu' indicates ready-made terms. First, it is known as 'chengyan'(成言) , 'chengci' (成辞) and 'chenyan'(陈言). Up to the Song Dynasty.it is called ‘cheng yu' (成语)and ‘quanyu' (全语). It continued to be used in the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.
