摘要
由于词源上的差异 ,英语中的 culture与汉语中的“文化”,各自的内涵与外延并非完全吻合。翻译时需要充分考虑特殊语境中 ,culture与“文化”在抽象与具体、褒扬与贬损、语义范围的宽与窄 ,以及彼此间的包容与排斥等方面的差异 ,超越简单的表层词汇对应 。
The English word culture and its Chinese correspondent “WENHUA” actually vary considerably due to the etymological differences. Thus, during the equivalent translation for an equal understanding and appreciation of the source and target languages, the two words must be analyzed in the aspects the general specific commendatory derogatory connotations, the widenarrow semantic coverage and the non correspondence in lexicon.
