城市园林规划专家程世抚先生,走过了一条由民主主义知识分子,成长为共产主义战士和科技专家的道路。他早年留洋造就了学贯中西,但却不一味崇洋;在继承与创新方面,坚持要继承发扬民族传统,推陈出新;在城市规划、风景区与园林规划、园林绿地、城市建筑艺术布局与园林化、旅游与经济等问题上,都有非常精辟的论述。一家三代都为我国的园林事业做出了贡献。

Mr. Cheng Shi-fu, an expert in urban landscape planning, has finished his way on which he grew from a democratic professional to a communist and a sci-tech expert. In his earlier years, Mr. Cheng studied abroad and achieved mastery of the culture both Chinese and occidental while not worshipping the foreign things. He insisted on carrying forward the national traditions and made innovation from the old. And he also held brilliant expositions on urban planning, scenic areas and landscape planning, landscape green space, the artistic layout and landscaping of urban architecture, as well as the problems of tourism and economy. The three generations of his family have had contributed greatly to the landscape undertakings of China.
