On Globalization and Quality Constitution of English Teachers

传统的英语应试教育存有弊病,英语教师要着力更新教学目的观、教学方法观和教师角色观,努力构建和发展以创新为核心的能力体系,包括吸纳异质文化能力、言语表达能力、创新科研能力和现代教育技术能力,以迎接全球化时代对英语教师的考验.

There exit some disadvantages in the traditional exam-oriented English teaching method in a globalization context. The paper argues that teachers of English should try to update their concepts in terms of the teaching objective, methodology and their role, that they should make efforts to construct and develop the system of creativity-centered capacity characterized by the capacity of absorbing alien culture, of lauguage skills, of creative scientific research, and of utilizing modern educational technologies in order to meet the challenge of the globalization era.
