The complicated personal identity and the problems encountered in seeking his cultural attribution and spiritual home are well reflected in his works. In Miguel Street, the real lives of the people in the post-colonial country are described. In A House for Mr. Biswas, the pursuance of individual independence and personal identity is depicted. Many of Naipaul's works reveal and denounce the evils of colonialism left to post-colonial countries.
