在中世纪时期欧洲经济发展史上 ,意大利的著名城市共和国威尼斯占有不可忽视的重要地位。威尼斯曾经历过极大的发展与光辉的繁荣 ,尤其 1 3至 1 5世纪 ,是威尼斯经济的繁荣期 ,收入总数跃居欧洲首位 ,在地中海贸易中独占鳌头 ,公认为欧洲最强大的海上商业国家。前代学者对于这一点已有较多研究 ,留下了众多的论著 ,在前贤成果的基础上 。
