STUDIES ON THE GENUS PODOCINUM BERLESE IN CHINA (ACARI: PODOCINIDAE)

本文描述中国足角螨属Podocinum Berlese 6种,其中新种为尖峰岭足角螨P.jianfenglingense sp.nov.,天目足角螨P.tianmuense sp.nov.,长春足角螨P.changchunense sp.nov.,海南足角螨P.hainanense sp.nov.;新记录种为太平洋足角螨P.pacificum,跚感足角螨P.sagax。

This paper deals with 6 species of the genus Podocinum Berlese collected from the litter and humus of soil in China. Among them 4 species are described as new to science.All the type specimens are deposited in the Department of Environmetal and Resources Biology, Fudan University.1. Podoeinum pacificum Berlese (figs. 1—5)Specimens examied: 2 ♀♀, Shuzhou, Jiangshu Province, 15. Ⅵ. 1985.This species has been recorded from Europe, Africa, North America, South America, Australia and Asia (Japan, Korea, India). This is the first record of the species from China.2. Podoeinum sagax (Berlese)(figs. 6—12)Specimens examined: 3♀♀, 3(?), Shuzhou, Jiangshu Province, 15-Ⅴ-1985, 1♀♀, Mt. Yuelu, Changsha, Hunan Province, 15. Ⅺ. 1987.This species was originally described by Berlese from Italy. Since then, it has peen recorded from Argentina, Indonesia, Jamaiva, Guatemale, Puerto Rico, Mixico and one male specimen collected from Chionoese Zingiber officinale in 1937 (De Leon, 1964). This is newly described and figured in China.3. Podocinum jianfenlingense sp. nov. (figs, 13—19)This species is similar to Podocinum catenum Ishikawa, 1972 from Japan, but can be distinguished from the latter by the folloning characters. The posterior half of dorsal shild with 5 pairs of stout and ciliate setae, instead of 6 pairs; the protuberances forming a polygonal network not connected with one another, instead of connected by bridges one another; the distance between bases of vertical setae less than their individual length, instead of longer than their individual length.Holotype ♀, allotype (?), paratypes 2♀♀, 1(?), Mt. (figs. 20—23)This species resembles Podocinum jianfenlingense nov. sp., but can be speparate from the latter by the following characters: The distance between bases of vertical setas longer than their individual length, instead of less than their individual length; the median and lateral projections of tectum with pointed extremities, instead of having divided. (figs. 24—28)This species resembles Podocinum anhuense Wen, 1965, but may be distinguished from the latter by the following characters: All 8 pairs of stout setae on the posterior half of dorsal shield shorter than that in the latter; the lengh of D_7 setae shorter than the distance between bases of D_7-D_8 instead of longer; the median projection of tectum with 2 forked distally, instead of 4.Holotype ♀, paratypes 6♀♀, Changchum, Jielin Province, 15. Ⅶ. 1985.6. Podocinum hainanense sp. nov. (figs. 29—33)This species differs from all known species of the genus in the following characters.
