TWO NEW SPECIES OF CARIDINA FROM GUIZHOU, CHINA (CRUSTACEA: DECAPODA)

本文报道贵州省米虾二新种:孟氏米虾的雄性第一腹肢内肢中部内、外侧均凹陷;粗肢米虾的雄性附肢的内附肢特别粗大。

In the present paper two new species of Caridina are described. The specimens were collected from Guizhou Province, China, in May, 1987, by Mr Guo Zhao-liang and Gao Jie. The diagnostic features of these new species are given as follows:Caridina mengae sp. nov. (fig. 1)Rostrum reacheing middle or distal portion of 2nd segment of antennular peduncle. Dorsal border bearing 14—25 teeth, 6—10 of which situated on carapace behind the orbit, with 3—9 teeth on ventral border.Endopod of 1st male pleopod peanut in shape. Appendix interna reacheing extremity of endopod. Appendix masculina of 2nd pleopod rod in shape and bearing numerous shorter spinules. Appendix interna stout, about 1/3 as long as appendix masculina.Remarks: The shape of the endopod of the 1st male pleopod of the new species closely resembles that of Caridina brevispina Liang et Yan, but the new species differs from the latter in: 1. the rostrum is rather much developed, bearing teeth on either dorsal and ventral borders; 2. the outer margin of the endopod of the 1st male pleopod is concaved too; the appendix interna is not bent; and 3. the eggs are smaller in size. This new species is named in honcur of Prof. Q. W. Meng.Type locality: Xiangshui Cave, Pansbi, Songtao County. (28.19°N, 109.20°E) Guizhou Province.Caridina crassipes sp. nov. (fig. 2)Rostrum short and narrow, reaching middle of 2nd segment of antennular peduncle, bearing 10—13 teeth on upper border, 1—2 of which situated on carapace behind the erbit, with 1—2 teeth on'lower margin.Carpus of the 1st leg about 1.4 times as long as wide, and that of the 2nd leg about 3.6 times.Endopod of the 1st male pleopod rectangular in shape, about 2.8 times as long as wide, inner border with humorous slender spinules, and outer border with longer plumy setae. Appendix masculina smaller and cone-shaped, its spinules few in number. Appendix interna very large, larger than appendix masculina.Remarks The present new species closely resembles Caridina disparidentata Liang et al., but differs from the latter by the following features: 1. the carpus of the 1st leg is shorter and thicker; 2. there is no sexual dimorphisrn in the 3rd legs, 3. the appendix masculina is smaller and with few spines, but the appendix interna is very large.Type locality Panshi, Songtao County (28.19°N, 109.20°E), Guizhou Province, May 28, 1987.
