Conformity assessment is a control method, which is used by a country or an area to ensure its product quality and safety for the market admittance of enterprises and their products. With the development of economy globalization, enterprises are faced with new opportunities and challenges. So, it's very important for improving enterprises' competitive advantage to learn and adapt to the conformity assessment system of the western countries. In this paper, the status of the conformity assessment system of America, Japan, Korea and the European Union are brifly de- scribed.
