The hydraulic hoists of permanent shiplock for the Three Gorges Project are the most advanced hoisting equipment in China. With its proportional,pump control technique and three,stage safety protection design, the hoisting equipment has allowed its normal operation at different conditions. First in China shop testing for the combined regulation of mechanic, electric and hydraulic systems was carried out before erection. The technological features for installing this hydraulic equipment and associated quality control requirements are described in this article.
