A Dialogue on the Relationship between Indian Writers and Chinese Cultures

本文是我国著名学者季羡林先生和我校郁龙余教授为《梵典与华章:印度作家与中国文化》一书以“对话”方式所作的卷首语。季先生虽已94高龄,而且住院疗养,但仍思维敏捷,笔耕不止,每日可写2000字。在这篇《对话》中,他重申了自己的一些基本观点,还提出了许多新的真知灼见。让我们再次感受到了当代思想学术重镇的堂正和深厚。本刊征得作者同意,予以全文刊出,以飨广大读者。

Editorial Note: The present article is written by Prof. JI Xian lin, a nationally-known scholar of China and Prof. YU Long yu of our Shenzhen University in the form of a dialogue for the book Classics: Sanskrit and Chinese——Indian Writers and Chinese Cultures. Prof. JI, though already 94 years of age and currently recuperating in hospital, is still very quick-minded and keeps writing so diligently that he produces 2000 characters every day. In this dialogue, he reiterates some of his basic viewpoints and puts forward many new ideas of profound insight so that we can once again sense the grandeur and depth of this contemporary scholar of great distinction. After obtaining the agreement of the authors, our journal has put to press this article in full for the benefit of broad masses of readers.
