A potential logic framework in Identity & Difference by Heidegger, several works by Derrida after 1990s such as The Gift of Death and the critical assessments by some philosophers and theologians could be interpreted as the relation of 'difference' and 'otherness', which is often recognized with theological perspectives in the western world. The author argues that the involved idea and terminology has a strong impact on the contemporary literary studies, but it is almost impossible to grasp its insight unless understanding the 'difference' and 'otherness' as something religious.
