A new method is described for determing the chromium content of tanning liquid using visible photometric detection ion chromatograph,particularly, the continuous analysis of the great number of samples.The present work indicates that this is a high precision method with variation coefficient of 0.32%,good linearity and recover factor being 98～100.25%.The accaracy rapidity and convenience are the significant characteristics of this procedure.
