On the Historical Connotation of the Advanced Productive Forces

先进生产力是一个历史的范畴 ,在当代有其特定的历史内涵 ,必须在理解和把握这一内涵的基础上才能解决代表先进生产力发展要求的问题。以下几点是先进生产力历史内涵的展开环节 :科学技术成为生产力中的“独立因素”;科学技术成为生产力中作用不断扩大的“独立变量”;科学技术成为生产力系统中的先导者 ;科学技术是第一生产力 ;新经济特别是网络经济作为“科学技术是第一生产力”在当代的整体体现。在网络经济中 ,先进生产力已经展现为一个新的经济形态。可以预言 ,随着这一经济形态的形成和发展 ,整个社会形态也将发生历史性的变化。因此必须以此为基点确定我们的发展方向和社会角色 ,只有这样才能真正体现先进生产力的发展要求。

The advanced productive force is a historical category which has its special historical connotation in the modern times. Only on the basis of understanding the connotation can we solve the problem as to whether we can represent the development requirements of advanced productive forces. The following points are the expanded links of their historical connotation: science and technology becomes the 'independent factor' in the productive forces; it becomes the ever increasing 'independent variable'; it becomes the guide in the productive force system; science and technology is the first productive force, which is embodied by the new economy, especially by the network economy in the present day. In the network economy,the advanced produtive force has emerged as a new economic formation. It can be predicted that with the forming and developing of this economic formation, the whole social formation will undergo historical changes. So we must take this as our basis to ascertain our direction of development and social role. Only by doing this can we fully embody the development requirements of the advanced productive forces.
