On the Cultural Connotation of the Image of Cicada

作为特定环境中的独特个体 ,蝉意象在中国古代文学中主要用于表现悲秋主题。在蝉意象的不同层面上 ,折射出中国传统文人种种复杂的高洁心态、畏祸心态、超脱心态等 ,并外化为各异的人格构成。在蝉意象的价值取向上 ,形成了由感性情感层面到理性道德层面再到非理性超脱层面的价值建构。

As a peculiar organism in specially designated environment,cicada as a literary image is mainly to manifest the theme of autumn-sadness. The different aspects of the image of the cicada reflect the various complex mentality of the traditional Chinese literati, such as the mentality of being noble and unsullied, the mentality of being afraid of troubles and disasters, and the mentality of holding aloof, etc., which are shown in different personalities. In the value orientation of the cicada image, the value establishment is from the perceptual feeling to the rational morality, and then to the irrational detachment.
