进城务工人员是社会转型期产业工人队伍的新生群体,是建设社会主义市场经济的重要力量。然而,进城务工人员的社会地位、经济地位等方面都处于最底层,其合法权益维护问题,引起了党中央、国务院的高度重视。最大限度地把进城务工人员组织到工会中来,切实维护他们的合法权益,进一步发挥他们在建设小康社会、推进现代化建设中的积极作用已成为当务之急。

The migrant workers from rural areas are a new group of industrial working class in the transformation of society. They are important force that socialist market economy relies on. But their social, economic positions and so on are at the bottom of society. The central committee of the CPC and the State Council has attached importance to these people's legitimate rights and interests. The burning issue of the moment is to draw migrant workers from rural areas into trade unions, earnestly safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, give full play to their role of building a well-off society, and push modern construction.
