This paper studies the forming and development of Twenty-four Rules of Filial Piety and On Filial Piety , and analyzes their relations from theoretical and practical perspectives. Furthermore, according to materialism and dialectics, the paper believes that criticism towards the both should be based on preserving the virtue with rational discarding of the useless.
