中国古代爱情剧中所描写的信物,首先是凭证作用:一是作为定情的凭证,二是作为离后再重圆的 凭证。其次是作为戏剧道具对全剧情节结构的连接纽带作用。第三是作为一种文化载体,它承载着以贞节和 气节为主要内涵的传统美德与品格。
Love tokens in Chinese classical literature, in its first place, play a role as an evidence for engagement and also as a symbol to confirm reunion after a long departure. Then they function as dramatic props to plot the story. Finally, they work as a kind of cultural carrier, which includes a traditional virtue of being pure and courteous.
