Function Extension of NS2 Network Simulator and its Implementation

摘要 NS2作为开源软件缺少对最新研究算法的模拟能力 .在现有软件基础上对其进行功能扩展极其必要 ,是模拟研究新理论新算法的基础 .本文着重探讨网络仿真软件 NS2的功能扩展原理及设计实现 ,展示运用 NS2仿真器对网络行为进行研究的过程 .最后对该算法进行模拟实验 ,并与已有 RED和 PI算法进行性能对比分析 . NS2 (Network Simulator Version2) as open source software, it lacks the ability to simulate some latest developed algorithms. This leads to the requirement of the functional extension of the current version. This paper focuses on the description of the extension principle and implementation details of NS2, and presents the entire process of research on network behavior by using NS2 simulator. The structure of NS2 and the PID (Proportional Integral Differential) control principle for the network congestion control are first described, and then the details of the extension principle and its implementation procedures are presented with the PID congestion control algorithm as an example. Finally, the simulation of PID is carried out and the result is compared with those generated from the RED and PI algorithms.
