摘要
本文探讨了作为助动词的"get"一词在英语语言发展过程中的变化.文章以翔实的资料从形式及语义上比较了"get+V-ed"和"be+V-ed"结构之间的异同.文章指出,从句法学的角度出发,get+V-结构虽可被be+V-ed结构替换,但get+V-ed结构所表现出动作的主动性、突发性、渐变性等却又不能为be+V-ed结构所取代.
This paper explores the changes of “get” in its word class throughout the development of English language. Supported with thorough data,it compares “get” as an auxiliary with “be” in form and in meaning. The paper points out that though any get+V ed structure can be replaced by be+V ed structure at the pure syntactic level, the get+V ed structure carries a connotation of initiative, abruptness and gradualness which be+V ed structure doesn't have.
