本文从文化学、社会学的视角,审视了法国作家司汤达的代表作<红与黑>主人公于连的艺术形象.文章认为:于连形象集中地体现了司汤达的社会观、人文观与文艺观;作家以于连的悲剧人生对当时的法国社会作了深刻的解读与批判,充分肯定于连崇尚自我、实现人性的人文主义精神;于连生理生命的悲剧性毁灭,正标志其精神生命的辉煌诞生与永恒,从而预示了压抑人性的黑暗时代必然行将灭亡.

Viewed from the angles of cultural science and sociology, this paper attempts to explore the artistic image of Julien, the leading character in French novelist Stendhal's masterpiece The Red and the Black . It points out that the image of Julien focuses on Stendhal's viewpoint of society, humanity, art and literature; Stendhal gives the profound explanation and critical criticism of French society by describing Julien's tragic life, fully reflecting Julien's humanistic spirit of self worship and realizing human nature; the tragic end of Julien's physical life is marking the new birth and immortality of his spiritual life, thus predicting the end of darkened era oppressing human nature.
